I am a registered adult nurse with over 14 years experience in the perioperative environment. I began my nursing career in gynaecology and obstetrics theatres, combining the roles of scrub practitioner, anaesthetic practitioner, Theatre Sister, and Surgical First Assistant. I now work as a Surgical Care Practitioner and non medical prescriber for the Urology Robotic service at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust in the West Midlands, after completing my MSc in November 2022. I am an Associate Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and hold an Affiliate membership of the Faculty of Perioperative Care with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and have been published in the perioperative field. I am also interested in non-technical skills and human factors within the perioperative environment and have recently begun lecturing on a casual basis at Birmingham City University for student Operating Department Practitioners.
