2015 winners announced
On 12th November more than 1,100 nursing professionals gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel, to hear which initiatives have inspired the nursing community over the last year and to see who walked away with a Nursing Times Award.
This year we had a fantastic year for entries with more than 800 entries from 346 organisations and a record number of people in the room. It was, as always, an inspirational night which honoured the amazing work that nurses carry out every day.
Jenni Middleton, editor of Nursing Times, commented:
“The nurses who have won this year – and those who are finalists – are smart, innovative and making real changes to the way that patients are cared for. Nursing care is no longer about bedpans and bandages – nurses contribute much more than that and influence every aspect of care and we need to make sure that the public, the media and the policymakers understand that. This year, HRH the Prince of Wales asked to be involved in The Nursing Times Awards through a special award – The HRH Award for Integrated Approaches to Care. He wanted to acknowledge the huge contribution that nurses make and knows it’s essential that they are recognised and their great work disseminated. That’s what these awards do – in all our categories.
Well done to all of our finalists and winners, they have much to be proud of as they have truly made a difference to patients, residents, service users and those who love them. It is a fantastic achievement.”
All of this year’s entrants, finalists & winners deserve to be recognised for their contribution to the nursing profession. Our judging panel made up of 81 senior and influential figures from the nursing profession, had the very difficult task of narrowing down the hundreds of entries to an exceptional shortlist and then to select the very worthy winners. The judges were extremely impressed with all the hard work and innovation displayed by the entrants this year.
