Christine began her cancer nursing career in 1994 as a staff nurse in oncology and loved the speciality. She completed oncology and chemotherapy studies in London followed by several years working in London and Manchester in specialist nursing roles. In 2009 at the inception of acute oncology as a speciality, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Christine helped to establish the first acute oncology nursing team in the country. In her current role as lead nurse for Acute Oncology Christine has led on developing the nursing team to advanced practice roles. She is passionate about providing quality acute care for cancer patients and developing innovative nurse delivered services for this patient group. She is currently undertaking a scholarship with the Florence Nightingale Leadership Academy focusing on developing cancer same day emergency care in the Trust. Christine was part of the team that won the Nursing Times cancer award in 2022.
