Alison is the CEO and a Fellow of the Institute of Health Visiting - the centre of excellence of the profession in the UK, established to strengthen the quality and consistency of health visiting for the benefit of all children, families and communities. She is driven to ensure that every child has the best life from the start and to reduce health inequalities. Alison has an extensive background in health visiting practice, with a career that spans research, leadership and policy, including the position of Professional Advisor for Health Visiting at the Department of Health from 2014. Previous roles include: Director of Policy and Quality at the iHV, Best Start in Life Programme Manager at Public Health England; Head of Nursing for children’s public health in Hampshire, and National Institute of Health Research Clinical Academic with an interest in implementation science and co-production.
