Tracey has worked in services for babies, children, young people and families for over three decades, initially in acute settings but predominantly in community services, as a Children’s Nurse, Health Visitor and then NMC Teacher. Tracey was shortlisted in 2023 for the prestigious Nursing Times ‘Nurse of the Year’ award. Tracey is a Nurse Consultant and NIHR Senior Research Leader: Nursing and Midwifery at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. She advocates for communities of practice to integrate research into practice, important for building research capacity and capability. Tracey co-leads the Yorkshire and Humber 0-19 Research Network and was part of the team which won the Nursing Times ‘Public Health Nursing’ award in 2024, for a CRN funded 2year project was undertaken. Tracey is undertaking a PhD at the University of Hull exploring transition to adoptive parenthood, a subject of both personal and professional interest.
