Jane is a Registered Nurse in the UK and is a graduate of Apollo College of Nursing, (MSc Nursing) and MAC College of Nursing (BSc Nursing) Chennai, and hails from Vellore, Tamilnadu, India. Jane works as the Trust Freedom To Speak Up Guardian as well as the Shared Governance Lead at Northampton General Hospital. Jane has a diverse career background in nursing and plays a significant role in shaping the oragnisational culture through FTSU. Jane has been shortlisted for the National BAME Awards 2024 under two categories- Nurse of the Year and Outstanding Inclusion Achievement. She is also the proud winner of the MIDAS Award 2022 and Alumni of the Midlands Developing Aspirant Leaders Programme. She has been passionate about working with people, empowering staff groups, and understanding diverse cultural backgrounds and their impact on patient care. As the Lead for Shared Governance, she is responsible for Shared Decision-Making and leads the award-winning Levelling Up Programme for the Global Majority Nurses, Midwives and AHPs as well as the LEO ( Leading an Empowered Organisation) Programme. As ‘people’ are the heart of NHS, her work goal is to ensure equal opportunity for staff and patients for career growth, development, and availability of health services. Jane is also the Cultural Ambassador and the Co-Chair of the NGH Race Ethnicity &Cultural Heritage (REACH) Network. As a trained Professional Nurse Advocate she uses her skills across her various roles to support and influence various staff groups within the Trust. When not working Jane loves to spend time with her two children, binge-watching Netflix and listening to podcasts.
