Senior lecturer in children and young people’s nursing,
Alyson is a senior lecturer and field lead for children and young people’s nursing at Swansea University. My main teaching responsibilities lie with the BSc pre-registration degree in children’s nursing. Alyson provides teaching and nursing expertise to other post-graduate programmes related to children’s nursing. My areas of teaching and research focus on children’s nursing, child development, family- centred care and children’s and young people’s mental health. She is a member and secretary of the All Wales CYP Senior Nurse Forum, which provides a voice on children’s nursing issues within Wales. She has recently edited and authored chapters in Children and Young People’s Nursing: Principles for Practice (Davies & Davies 2017). Clinically her background is from children’s oncology and general paediatrics. She continues to have a close relationship with clinical practice as a link tutor.
