Dr Helen Jones has spent much of her nursing career working as a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) across various clinical areas and more recently in management roles overseeing the research delivery workforce. She is part of the NIHR 70@70 senior research leaders programme to raise awareness and understanding of research across NHS organisations. In 2017 she completed a Doctorate in Healthcare at Kings College London and carried out the first national study to examine the organisational structure of the national CRN workforce and the experience of CRNs working in research delivery.
Helen currently sits on the DHSC Recovery, Resilience and Growth Advisory Group and has been appointed as Chair of both the Association of UK Lead Research Nurses (AUKLRN) and of the RCN Research Nurse subcommittee. She has published and presented on aspects of the CRN role and workforce.
