Stella Hannaway is an RGN, PG dip toxicology, PG dip addictions V300 NMP-specializing in both substance issues and offender health.
Stella trained at Kings College Hospital London in 1988 and subsequently studied at University of Auckland and Cardiff university.
She has over 30 years nursing experience and has worked in both NZ and Australia as Director of Nursing for addiction services.
For the last 15year since returning to the UK, Stella has worked across multiple sectors and commissions leading community and hospital based teams in the delivery of integrated practice- more latterly within prison settings mobilizing transformation plans to drive up both quality and patient safety.
For the last 18months Stella has worked at HMP Liverpool as Head of Transformation- leading a multi stakeholder partnership to address the systemic issues identified via both Kirkup and CQC/HMIP inspections. This turn around work has been recognised formally and professionally, winning Stella the NT Nurse Leader of the year title 19/20.
