Angela Thompson was appointed to the role of Director of Nursing and Deputy Regional Chief Nurse for NHS Improvement London in September 2017.
Angela is both an adult and paediatric registered nurse who specialised in neonatal intensive care. Angela has over 30 years’ experience in the NHS working in both acute and tertiary centres. Prior to joining NHS Improvement, Angela was the Director of Nursing at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where she worked for six years, prior to that Angela was the Deputy Director of Nursing at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Specific areas of interest and expertise include patient safety and outcomes, patient experience, governance, workforce deployment, e-rostering, infection prevention, safeguarding and research.
