Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Brenda has always had a passion for wound management and was fortunate to have been appointed to one of the first community tissue viability nurse roles in the country in 1992 and has always felt privileged to have had the opportunity to work in tissue viability. In 2008 she took up the post of Nurse Consultant Tissue Viability in the community and over the last few years has covered acute and community services. During her career she has been instrumental in developing local wound care services including leg ulcer prevention and management and pressure ulcer prevention and management. Brenda has a wealth of experience, has published and lectured widely and is involved with NHSE as a member of the wound care project board and led the lower leg workstream for NHSE. A highlight of her career was to be awarded an MBE in the birthday honours list 2009 for services to health care.
