Head of serious incidents investigation team and clinical leadership facilitator,

Jo has worked in the NHS since 1983 in clinical and operational roles in mental health services. She is currently the head of the serious incident investigation team at CNWL, where she has worked since 2002 in a variety of roles, as matron, lead nurse and clinical services manager.
Jo oversees RCA investigations from allocation to completion. She co-investigates and facilitates investigates homicides and complex multi-agency serious incidents. A significant part of her role is working with and meeting families of the deceased patients and on occasions the families of victims.
Jo and her team coach, mentor and co-investigate with staff and the team provides a specialist placement for ST5-ST6 doctors for investigation skills development and learning from serious incidents.
Jo has a keen interest in people and service development and for the last six years has facilitated the Trust Clinical Leadership Programme, leading workshops and action learning sets.
Jo believes in the big impact of small changes and holding the Trust values - Compassion, Respect, Empowerment, Partnership - central to her own core behaviours.
In her spare time, Jo enjoys socialising with friends, seeing bands, weekend breaks away and generally remaining positive and optimistic.
