Anne Biggs is a matron for children's community nursing team and paediatric clinical nurse specialists. Anne started her children's nurse training in 2002 and has worked in several roles including in acute, community and PICU settings. She worked as a clinical nurse specialist in children's allergy where she oversaw the operational aspects of establishing a new nurse led children's allergy service. Her work includes initiatives for improving access to advice, diagnosis and management of eczema and food allergies for babies, children and young people. She has led the team to win an award for this work in the Nursing Times Long Term conditions category. Anne won Nurse of the Year in 2022 and is passionate about the nurse's role in improving access to care for patients and their families. Her work now includes supporting a team of paediatric clinical nurse specialists and Children's Community Nurses. Both teams provide highly skilled nursing care, including palliative care in the family home. Anne is currently undertaking a Florence Nightingale Leadership Scholarship.
